Yes, this is a class where you take part too alongside your child to assist with any tricky or new activities and encourage them to try different things.
Yes, each session is different and will not be repeated within the year.
There’s a form online that you can fill out if you’d like to book a session with us. Alternatively, please contact me by email firstname.lastname@example.org or send me a message on our Facebook page facebook.com/stripymonkey. Note that to avoid disappointment you must confirm your place before arriving
The sessions are £8 each with a £1/session discount when 6 or more sessions are booked together (email for more info).
Please pay by BACS transfer (details on request) or cash on the day.
Not at all, this class is all about the process of creating for your child, not about what the final outcome looks like, so if you have a masters in fine art or are a complete novice with a pencil all are welcome.
No, this class is about exploring colour, shape, texture, pattern and creativity, so if your child can hold a pen correctly or not won’t stop them having fun with their creativity.
All children are different and we have structured each session to have a built in break as we know children can’t concentrate for long periods of time, and we have also provided a ‘break out’ activity for children to do if they finish the main activity early.
Not necessarily. Aprons will be provided but you know your child better than anyone so if you think they’re prone to getting particularly messy, please bring a change of clothes so you don’t have to worry. It’s probably best you don’t let your child, or you, wear your best clothes though as there are always times when things get messier than expected!
We provide all of the ideas and materials necessary for the class so all you need to do is turn up, get involved and go home without having to clean up
That’s ok, we do a variety of different activities each session so if they’re not so keen on certain things, we can hopefully find something they prefer. Also, the more a child is exposed to getting messy in a safe and fun environment, the more they might like to try it for themselves.
We run classes from around 15 months up to 4.5 years (ish). We have the lower limit because your child will get the most from the session by being able to sit at a little table and be confident mark making. But all children develop differently and you’re welcome to come along to a free taster session to assess if you think your child will enjoy themselves. The upper limit is set because these sessions are for pre-schoolers so your child is welcome to come right up till they start school.
Of course, we offer a 5% sibling discount and as long as you are happy to assist both children concurrently, we’d love to have you all at our classes.
